In the early 1980s, developed countries such as Europe and the United States, which have basically completed industrialization, set off a trend of returning to nature. People's attention and exclusion to chemical synthetic products with side effects gradually increased, and their preference for natural and safe plant extracts returned to and highly respected. The industry should emerge as the times require. In 1994, the United States promulgated the Dietary Supplementary Health and Education Act, which formally recognized the acceptance of plant extracts as a food supplement, and the plant extract industry developed rapidly. Traditional Chinese medicine has a long history in China. Medical personnel have attached great importance to the analysis of plant properties and medicinal properties since ancient times. By the 1970s, some domestic pharmaceutical factories began to use mechanical equipment to extract plant ingredients, but as a production link of pharmaceutical manufacturing, it did not develop into an independent industry. After the mid-1990s, with the deepening of opening up, foreign trade began to flourish, and the plant extract industry, which was less restricted by policy, began to develop. Since the 21st century, the plant extract industry has entered a golden period of development. On the one hand, the improvement of living standards and the enhancement of health awareness have stimulated people's strong demand for plant extract products; on the other hand, it has benefited from the application of more advanced plant extraction technologies (such as enzymatic extraction, ultrasound extraction, supercritical extraction, microwave extraction, membrane separation technology, etc.), which greatly improved production efficiency. (1) Technical The plant extraction industry has high technical requirements. In the development stage of new products, profound theoretical knowledge and long-term practical experience are needed as the basis; in the production stage, the use of advanced extraction technology and equipment can not only greatly improve the quality of extracts, but also improve the utilization rate of raw materials, reduce waste of raw materials and reduce production costs. (2) Industrial concentration Plants are the object of plant extraction, and areas rich in resources are more conducive to the development of industry. Shaanxi, Hunan and Sichuan are currently the three major producing areas of plant extracts in China. The plant extracting industry in these three provinces started early and the resources of medicinal plants are relatively abundant. At present, they have formed a certain scale advantage. After more than 30 years of development, Shaanxi plant extract industry has nearly 600 related enterprises and more than 1000 products, which has gradually become the vane of domestic industry development. |
